What's New ...

March 9-11, 2012 : It was LEGO Mania time again at Tillicum Centre in Victoria, and Robin, Christian and the VicLUG crew were on hand once again to build something cool and BIG, and display lots of cool creations. This year's BIG build was a 2.5 metre long replica of Victoria's Bay Street Armoury, or the "Army Castle" as many of the kids called it! It was great fun to build.

We also had 120 kids enter the Building Challenge. The theme this year was "Sea and Sky" and the kids did not disappoint! There were so many great creations.

February 17-19, 2012 : Robin and the team spent the weekend at Science World: Telus World of Science, building not one but TWO giant creations to celebrate the opening of LEGO Castle Adventure. The first was a 'Drafty Castle Door', built for BC Hydro Team Powersmart, and if you join Team Power Smart, you can try to guess the number of bricks used in the castle wall and door, and win some cool prizes!

December 2011: A belated Merry Christmas to everyone, and best wishes for 2012! Robin was busy this Christmas with a few private commissions, as well as decorating a few Christmas trees around the lower mainland. One of the most fun was a tree that was LEGO-ized for Aspac Developments / River Green at Richmond City Hall for their "Winter Wonderland" display. Click here for some pictures. October 30, 2011: The Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, was visited by the giant Sphinx over the Halloween weekend. There were reports of a mummy seen lurching through the corridors, coming to help Robin build it, but nobody's talking! For Click here for a few pictures (sorry for the poor quality). October 28, 2011: As many of you know, there's a lot more to LEGO than just the cool building sets you can buy on your local store shelves. If you have ever wanted to learn more about all the interesting ways that LEGO is used and played with by people of ALL ages, all around the world, you need to get this book - The Cult of LEGO. The title may be a little ominous, but if you're reading this, you already know how amazing LEGO really is. You'll learn about everything from the history of the LEGO Company, to what it's like to go to a LEGO convention and see thousands of creations built by adult fans! You'll see incredible LEGO robots, and even see how LEGO is used for very serious business, technical, and engineering applications. Of course, you'll also read about how some people create LEGO art for a living (like Robin!) I really enjoyed the book, and recommend it to you! Find it online at your favourite bookseller, like Chapters or Amazon. Cult of LEGO Book
